I want to give my hair and waxing girls something for the holiday. What is appropriate? I heard from someone not to give a gift card Chat Icon but quite frankly that's what I was planning on!

What do you girls do? and if there's a long thread about this already, can someone please bump it? Chat Icon

When I went a lot, I was (still am, but don't go as much) really good friends with my stylists. I got them giftcards to the stores I knew they loved. For example, my girl who used to do my brows and haircuts in Hampton Bays loved Forever 21, so I would get her a GC or some cute stuff.

Something edible? What about a bottle of wine? Or a tray of cookies or fruits and nuts?

well.... from my experience it depends on how often and how much you spend per visit.......

if you usually just get a haircut every few months and tip lets say 10 each time....... i think on top of your tip... 25 is very nice.

i have some clients that do anywhere between 20-75 tip....but some of them do major work...color highlights etc.

then again i have alot that dont "gift" extra at all.

its what you can afford.

but me.... cash is king or yes a gift card to a place they know i like for example..one client gives me starbucks cards for my birthday.

i am sure whatever you decide will truly be appreciated Chat Icon

I give them a little gift and a gift card to Starbucks. They always seem grateful.

For clients that I see at a business I work at, this time of year, it's usually double the tip they usually give me normally. It is is understood this is a one time thing for the year and they say "happy Holidays". They give it to me personally so I know they are telling me they gave me more $$$ Only my regular long time client do that.

In the past I got chocolate and wine.

I typically double my normal tip...so if I usually tip $10-$15, I tip $20-$30, for example

I just posted this on another thread...
I just got my hair cut/colored today..I've been using the same girl for almost 3 yrs now. I have her an extra $20 and a bottle of wine.
I usually tip her $20 - I gave her $40 today.
