Re: clomid girls..
My month on clomid I had af type cramping before my bfp... then 2 days after my expected period I had spotting after a workout. When I went to the doctor he said my cervix is closed and that it was normal, expecially with the clomid changing things up a bit. Don't forget your body has a lot going on with all the hormones effected by the clomid. I really hope this is your month.

Re: clomid girls..
this is only my second cycle on clomid, but I did have spotting a bit before my period was due along with slight cramping. Was just my body doing its own thing, but I hope it means something different for you!
Good Luck!

Re: clomid girls..
I've had several rounds of clomid cycles and don't remember cramping, but definitely never had bleeding until AF showed. Maybe, it's implantation! Hope this is it for you!

Re: clomid girls..
cramping can be a sign that you have follies growing and are going to ovulate.. but it really depends on the type of cramping. your cycle will be regulated from clomid only if you ovulate. if it doesnt work then it will be just as long if not longer unless the dr. gives you provera which tends to happen if the cycle failed to make you ovulate.
i know ive said this a zillion times but if you saw a doctor who monitored you on clomid, you wouldnt have all these questions because you would already know if you ovulated from it or not. it bothers me when doctors give clomid and no monitoring. it just makes the waiting game that much worse cause you dont know whats going on!!

i actually spoke to my doc last week..i called because i was getting very nervous with everyone saying i should be monitored better
she said it all depends on patient and as of now we do not need a sonogram..
is she right? i dont know..but she has been my doc for a while..i trust her and was there for us when we mc..so for now i will trust her..
after i get results back from blood and go in to see her i will go from there and see what i am going to do
i also spoke with a few girls on here and a couple in real life and they told me sometimes u need the ultrasound and sometimes u dont..2 girls told me they did not get one..this whole thing is so confusing and to be honest im draswing near my breaking point
i just want this blood test to be over go in talk 2 doc in person and go from there
thanks for writing back everyone i appreciate all the advice

I'm sorry, but this just makes me mad for you.
When I took Clomid, I took it on days 3-7 and went in on CD 10 to see if any follies were growing. They weren't. Went in on CD 14 to see if any follies had popped up. They hadn't. Went in at CD 18 to check again, and there was one follie. They gave me a blood test right then and determined that I'd ovulate in about 24 hours, so I had my IUI 24 hours later.
If I hadn't had all that monitoring, I would have never known if the Clomid worked or not. When CD 26 came around I would have started testing and being unnecessarily disappointed. I would have not known when to bd with my dh, and would have tried to bd every night from nights 9 - 25 just in case, which is impossible, and would have felt guilty that we couldn't do it.
Clomid isn't just a drug that makes you more fertile. It specifically causes follies to grow sometime between CD 10 and CD 20, and you need to know if they're there, or you're just wasting your time. It only works for about half of women, and if it's not working for you, you need to know. If it IS working for you, you need to know so you can time things properly.
I'm sorry for such a long response, but I feel really strongly about this. My OB-GYN actually recommended that I head to an RE for Clomid. She didn't want to just give it to me, and I'm so grateful to her for that.
Good luck to you!

Re: clomid girls..
Gina, my sister was majorly crampy because of overstimulation of her ovaries (or something like that). She had cysts that eventually went away. Hope the same thing is happening for you. I've been praying so hard for you this month!

Re: clomid girls..
I have done 5 cycles of clomid and it definitely regulated AF right away. I used to have very long cycles, and after the first cycle my cycle was 30days.

its not necessarily is it right or wrong - from a purely medical standpoint you dont HAVE to be monitored. BUT from a peace of mind standpoint wouldnt you rather have known a week ago if it was working then having to wait for a blood test after the fact?? with clomid if the first round (esp if its 50mg) doesnt work, and you produce no follies, the doctor can up the meds immediately and continue the cycle. once youve waited that long if it didnt work, you'll have to bleed before you can try again. if it did work, monitoring allows you to properly time so you aren't wasting energy and sperm count at times that there are no mature follies. im sorry if my comments are stressful for you, but the point of these discussions is to make people aware of their options. just as its your option to be in the dark about whether clomid is working or not, its mine and other girls who have BTDT job to let you know what is available should you choose to act on it.
either way i hope it worked for you so that you DON'T have to worry about it!
