RED VELVET CAKE

WHAT BRAND IF MAKING IT FROM A BOX IS BEST ??

DUNCAN HINES HAS ONE BUT THEN WILLIAM SONOMA HAS A HIGH END ONE - JUST WONDERING IF THERE WOULD BE A DIFFERENCE?

ever try Betty Crocker one? what cream cheese frosting do you use?

I think I used the DH Frosting - it was OK - Going to make my own this time though. Actually may do cake from scratch.

Haven't tried the Betty Crocker mix.

I never made the WS brand so I can't comment on it but I really like the DH red velvet cake mix...I just made it last night

I've used DH and WS and both have come out great!!!! I don't use cream cheese frosting though, I use buttercream frosting

I must be looking in the wrong stores. I check Target in Setauket, Stop & Shop in Coram and King Kullen in Selden and found nothing!! Chat Icon

Yes it is and I make the Paula Dean 7 layer red velvet cake!!! YUMMMM!!!!

Either or. I've done it both ways. My sister doesn't like cream cheese frosting so last time I did a batch with buttercream and a batch with cream cheese.
