Re: Spin off to those who use cookie presses
I use the recipe that came with the cookie press, its from Wilton:
Classic Sprtiz Cookies (Makes 7-8 dozen cookies) 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/2 cups butter (softened) 1 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Preheat oven to 350F In bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla and almond extract; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture; beat until combined. Fill cookie press with dough, press onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

My favorite are basic shortbead cookies.
2cups butter softened 1 cup sugar 2tsp vanilla 4 cups flour
Preheat the oven to 350. Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in the vanilla. Add the flour and mix well. Shape with the cookie press. Bake 10-12 minutes. Top with sprinkles before baking or dip in melted chocolate after.
