Do you have a flat roof?

Vaulted celings?

If you have vaulted ceilings... There is a way but it won't be cosmetically pretty.
Have you ever been in a commercial space and they have a ceiling with exposed rafters? You usually can see the ductwork running along the ceiling and walls for the ventilation system. Maybe I'm the only woman who ever notices such thingsChat Icon Chat Icon

That or you would have to build out horizontal and verticle soffets from your walls to hide the ductwork. That will be additional and require a carpenter to do. CAC companies don't do that.

If you have a cape with forced hot air, the easiest is through the ducts already there.

We had our central AC installed with out having an air handler put in the attic. We already had forced air heating ducts in the house, so we upgraded our furnace and they put a cooling coil on top of it, hooked up the the condenser unit outside and the cool air blows through the same ducts we already had in place for our heating.

We didn't lose any attic space - whoever did it, put all the duct work in the basement.
