christmas candy recipes?

Last year I made oreo truffles and LOVE them...looking for something else to make! Maybe some type of "bark" or fudge. Any recipes that you'd like to share?

Re: christmas candy recipes?

i've made oreo truffles... yummy!

peppermint bark is just as easy.

all you need is:
chocolate (any kind you like: milk, dark, semi-sweet)
white chocolate
peppermint (crushed)

you want to cover a cookie sheet with plastic wrap

melt the chocolate (whichever technique you want) i use the microwave

pour melted chocolate in cookie sheet. spread out

once it's set, do the same with the white chocolate.

before the white chocolate sets, sprinkle the crushed peppermint on top.

once everything sets, break apart like peanut brittle

Re: christmas candy recipes?

This is my fave...super easy. I can get correct amounts, but I usually just eyeball it.

Melt together choc chips and butterscotch chips.
Finely chop cashews and those crispy Chinese noodles and stir into the chocolate mixture.
Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool.

SO good!!!

I usually make fudge too, my fave is velveeta fudge. Easy and different.

Re: christmas candy recipes?

cookie sheet (it can't be completely flat-it has to have a lip around it since you will be pouring liquid into it)

1-2 sleeves saltine crackers (depending on size of cookie sheet)
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
24 ounces of chocolate chips (I usually use semi-sweet)
whatever topping(s) you want: coconut, nuts, crushed up candy canes. It is also good without any toppings.

Preheat oven to 400

Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil.

Layer foil with saltines (use however many it takes to totally cover the bottom of the cookie sheet)

In saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar, stirring constantly for 3-5 min until it combines, creating a caramel-y mixture.

Pour this mixture over the crackers (this is why your cookie sheet needs a "lip")

Bake for 4 minutes at 400

Remove from oven and pour chocolate chips over caramel

Bake for 1 minute to soften chips

Use a spatula to spread chocolate over top of crackers

Top with nuts, coconut, crushed candy canes, etc.

Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight. Break into bite size pieces.

Velveeta Fudge

4# powdered sugar
1# Velveeta Cheese spread
1# margarine
1 cup cocoa
1 teas. vanilla

Melt cheese and margarine and add the rest of the ingredients. Beat well.
Pour into wax paper-lined 9X15 pan (or 2 smaller pans?) and chill 2 or 3 hours.
Turn out and remove wax paper before cutting into about 100 pieces.
