Re: can you go to the doctor

I honestly don't know the answer to this... but for myself I wouldn't feel comfortable going with AF at all... unless they specifically wanted to see me during AF.

Do they maybe want to do CD3 bloodwork?? if so that's another story.

I would call the office and let them know about AF and ask if you should still come or reschedule.

I would go. My first visit were consults, no exam and this is the perfect time for them to do bloodwork.

Ooooh I just saw that she said her first visit with an RE.

Yes the first RE visit is just a consult. At least that's how it went for me.

I must have skipped that part somehow. I thought it was a reg OBGYN appt.

She didn't mention her appt was CD 3... just that she had her first appt and expected to possibly have AF for it.
Though from the turn out of the way AF and the appt pans out, it very well could be CD3 for the appt.

My first RE appt was not on CD 3 and therefore it was just a consult.

I didn't think an RE would plan to have someone come in for their first appointment on CD3... don't they usually want to talk to you first to go over information then make a game plan and start testing??
I guess if luck has it where it happens to fall on CD3 they could start that testing too on that day.

thanks for all of your responses ladies. What does CD 3 have to do with it? Is that the best time to do blood tests?

I stopped Provera Thursday... So far nothing... Maybe tomorrow AF will come, then my appointment on Tuesday will be CD 3. If thats a good thing, lets hope!

Right but she said it's her first appointment. If it happens to be CD3 I would think even though it's her 1st appt they will go ahead and draw blood...no?

Re: can you go to the doctor

I went to my first consultation with a RE and it also happened to be CD 3. They went again and did a sono and CD 3 blood work. If you plan on going to an RE, you might as well get used having an exam when you have AF. Its part of the process.

yes its quite common.
if you go in and you tell them you are at or around CD3 they will likely do a full workup on you.
i went to my first RE appointment and it was CD60 or so and they still did a full workup of blood and sono along with the consult.
if you are concerned i would call and ask. but be prepared for an exam with AF. whether its this time or not, it will happen.

Think of it this way... you will be giving birth eventually and that's way more graphic!

don't worry though... you want the CD3 work up. If you went for a first consult at another point in your cycle you would most likely have to come back for your CD3 work up anyway and go through it then. So this way as luck shall have it, you are killing 2 birds in one!!!

It actually is a good thing.

I have also had this happen. Honestly I am so used to it now, that it doesn't bother me anymore.

My first appt was a consult and he put me on provera and told me to come in on CD3 for fasting blood work so I will have AF then they will do a Sonogram on CD10 as long as AF is gone.
