My body doesn't want me to taper!

Last month I ran my first half marathon (Diva). The week before I hurt my ankle and didn't run at all.

I'm running my second half on Sunday (Philly) and I've had a cold the past two days so no running.

Apparently, my body just wants to completely skip out on tapering!

On the bright side, I'm not worried. The last time I didn't taper I finished a full 5 minutes before my goal time!

Well, if you're resting, you're tapering, right? Sounds as if your body is wanting to taper! You will be fine on Sunday, you ran a half just over a month ago and all your training is done, so any running from now until Sunday is not going to improve your time. Good luck and good for you for doing another half!!

At this point, all your training is in the bank! Just relax and you should be nice and rested for the race. If you feel up to it, maybe do an easy 2-mile run in a day or so.
