when to take a newborn out?
My  is 2 weeks old. just wondering how old your newborns were when you first took them out somewhere other than familys houses? Im going nuts in the house! TIA...

3 weeks old but I know that isn't the norm. And it was only 1 time for 10 mins. No one was really around him and no one touched him. Saturday I had a party and the quarters were too close and there were too many people so I took DS home. He is a month old.

I'm going crazy, too. Ava is 2 weeks old today, and I just had to get out of the house, so I left her here with JT and went to some stores to keep my sanity. I am too afraid to take her anywhere just yet. Maybe in another few weeks.

we took walks at a week, and to trips to stores like BRU and stuff at 3 weeks...I was going NUTS. My ped said as long as we kept prying hands away, she'd be fine.

I took her for a walk within the first week I was home with her (I was in the hospital 5 days). It was a beautiful day and I have taken her out pretty much every day since. I'm in the city now and I usually walk around 60 blocks a day. I take her into stores with me. She has never gotten sick, and she is 10 weeks old now.

4 weeks, but the ped told us 6.
I took her on quick store trips only.

We took ours to Ikea when he was 2 weeks old...they don't tell us not to take the baby out here, I see people out with 2 week olds all the time....One woman was at my BF Support Group last week with an 11 day old baby, I asked her why she wasn't at home crying!
BTW...he wasn't impressed with Ikea. Swedish design just went right over his head.

We took walks around the block right away and waited about a month to take her out to stores. My pediatrician said to wait longer but I was so excited to take her out.

I went for walks with her right away but waited until first shots until we went out to stores because it was the tail end of flu season.........
