Help- mac & cheese question
I have tried many recipes for baked mac & cheese and I have the same problem almost every time. The consistency of my cheese sauce is always a bit gritty. Any ideas why & how I can fix this?

Re: Help- mac & cheese question
Thanks for the article! Well, the problem is I have made a bunch of different recipes and always have the same problem. After doing some research, I think these may be my problems:
-Can't use pre shredded cheese- need to grate it fresh
-Cooking it too long and breaking down the structure of the cheese (or something like that lol)
-Some cheddar seems to be gritty
Typically I am cooking my butter/flour, adding my milk/cream and then the cheeses. The last one came out the best, much less gritty. It was the recipe recently posted on here. I grated all the cheeses myself.
