Help! Salvaging Mac N Cheese?

I was making a box of Annie's Mac N Cheese for the week - I didn't want the pasta to burn while I was dong other things this morning, so I set the timer for 5 minutes instead of 10 so I could come back and set the other 5 minutes.

I went to the bathroom, and of course the timer went off. I heard DH shut it off. I went downstairs to set the other 5 minutes, and saw that DH drained the pasta, and mixed everything in Chat Icon

When I asked DH why he did that, he got all angry at me and said I did it wrong. He got very defensive and attacking, when all I was doing was looking sadly at the mac n cheese, stirring it and tasting it (which I find vile to eat)

I have my morning routine and ways I do things that I don't expect anyone to get in the middle of. Is that wrong? That made me very upset.

Anyway... I have nothing else for Cailen for lunch today - I had to taste it, and saw the pasta was still extremely al dente Chat Icon He doesn't like it like that

I tried microwaving it with a drop of milk and it may have cooked a bit, I'm not sure.

I still have the rest in containers now - not sure what to do with it to salvage it - does anyone have any tricks?

Other than throwing it back in the microwave I'm out of ideas.

Personally, I'd just sent it in. He doesn't like al dente but if he never gets again, he'll never learn to like it. If he's hungry enough,he'll eat it. It's also one day so he's not going to starve. (I realize this sounds mean, but I've been dealing with a kid that eats nothing but carbs for a long time)

Oh, sister - it's already in a little container in the lunch bag! Chat Icon This kid lived on nothing but crackers all week in St. Maarten! Chat Icon

I was hoping I could try and fix the rest though....Chat Icon

Well I know that when I make soup with pasta in it the pasta will continue to soak up the broth...maybe just add a little extra water (or milk) and heat it (covered) in the microwave. Maybe use a low setting (like 1/2 power).

Maybe add a little milk or chicken broth (or vegetable broth - I think you are vegetarian?) to what's left. The pasta may soak up the extra liquid while it sits in the fridge.
