butter question
I accidentally left 4lb of butter out for 12 hours. Safe to throw in the fridge, or should I ditch it? (They're actually not super soft...I'd prob want them softer if I was using them for cookies...my apt is pretty cold.)
Thanks guys!

Re: butter question
I would keep it. Some people leave the butter on the counter at all times!

Re: butter question
Butter can stay at room temp for ages. I would still use it. Personally, I would probably just pop it back in the fridge or freeze it, but I don't know if thats the done thing.

Keep it! My mom always leaves her butter on the counter in those dishes.

Re: butter question
thanks ladies!! I know it can stay out, but I wasn't sure if it's OK to chill it again once it's been out. luckily with the holidays around the corner, I'm sure I'll be using all of it soon!!
