Hi Ladies,

I am new to the site. I was reading posts when we first starting ttc. There was sooo much helpful information here.

I am upset today because I am sick and was hoping for my BFP--figuring that excitement would make my strep throat seem to disappear. But AF came today..so now i got soar throat and cramping belly :(

Sorry, didn't mean to log on a cry a river..on to next month..looking for any pointers u hav...

i do not temp but I am starting second cycle of clomid 50 mg, w/mucinex to help EWCM..i have been getting positive opk's...anything else ..like does pressed really help? I try not to obsess but that seems easier said than done..how do u deal with that? I'd hate to think that my obsessing is what is affecting things..any advice would be appreciated.

From one Angela to another...

ive never used preseed... its really just a lube that will not kill sperm... a lot of people that do the marathons it helps so that youre not dried out and uncomfortable...

positive opks are a good sign... but temping is really the only way to know for sure...

i thought it was just a lube but i figured we'd try whatever works..and clomid has not caused a problem with CM (sorry of tmi)...i read some women saying that...

i never temp because it it isnt the same time of day everyday it wont work, right?

should i not trust the opk?

Hi and welcome I replied to a comment you made in one of the topics I posted earlier.

I was on Clomid for 3 months and did the preseed, Basal body temperature charting, Ovulation predictor, and the Robitoussin even though I did not have a problem with CM production. Unfortunately, Clomid was not for me. Besides not being able to conceive on it (even though I ovulated regularly), it made me extremely bloated (it looked like I was 3 mos prego for most of the time on it....ahhhh!), it gave me headaches, and mood swings. Hubby and I decided to go ahead and see a fertility doctor. We did all the testing and so far so good. Waiting for sperm count and then our next consultation next week at the Center for Human Reproduction at the North Shore University Hospital. We will decide then (if all test come back goo ) if we will be doing IUI or IVF. I am 38 years old and have a 14 year old from a previous relationship, my husband is 47 and has never had any kids. We really hope we will be blessed with a miracle soon!

first welcome!!!!!!!!!

as a clomid user..if u r using it b/c u r not ovulating and u needed the clomid to help i would def suggest temping cause the opks can tell u that u should be ovulating but u wont know if u actually are unless u temp..

as for the pressed..clomid can dry u out and thats why some use it but if u r having no issues with cm then u prob dont need it

I generally ovulate on my own so opks work. I just have irregaulr periods caused by very long Luteal Phase. BC usually kept me very regular, now the clomid is performing the same function. We were desperate to conceive for a summer due date bc it is almost impossible for me to take off during non-summer months. so bc of the clomid we hav one more shot for an august due date....if i had not taken the clomid my af would have come on day 45 or 50 and there would not have been another try....hope taht makes sense....we are now starting to have a conversation about what we could possibly do to hav the baby anytime during the year...but its hard...

I used preseed. After a few cycles with it, I got a BFP.

Can't say it's the sole reason for the BFP but it could def be a factor.

Preseed is a lube... but it also aids in helping the sperm swim up where they are supposed to go. It mimics the semen.

Also, we did Deanna's Plan. I would def recommend looking into it. It's basically a ton of which is ultimately what you need to obtain that BFP!!!!

PS - I also used opk's and the CBEFM - ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor.

I am not a temper. I already was doing so much and I felt the temping would just make me more OCD. Plus deciphering it all on a chart would drive me insane. It wasn't for me. But works for others.
