Vitamuffin lovers come in...
Amazon has the Vitamuffin Mix (pack of 3) for about $16. If you sign up for subscribe and save (automatic delivery) it drops the price to about $13. Add promo code Vitabake to bring the total to about $10 - which is an AMAZING price for these.
Prices are approximate since different flavors are priced differently. You can cancel the subscribe and save any time after your first order ships. I have only been able to find the mix at one store locally, and normally pay over $6 a box.
These are the mixes that you bake - they come out just like the frozen ones that you can buy and I freeze them with no problem.
WW points = 1
and yes, I just ordered 9 boxes

I've never had them before.
Do you make them according to the directions on the box or do you change it such as adding applesauce instead of oil?
What flavor(s) is/are good?

Re: Vitamuffin lovers come in...
I make them according to the package - they are already a low fat food - nutritional info is as follows for the package as baked:
Calories: 100 Fat: 1.5 g Fiber: 5 g
The only things that you add to the mix are 3 large egg WHITES and water.
My favorite is the Deep Chocolate. The nutritional info above also includes the optional 1/4 c of choc. chips that you use for garnish
You can find them pretty readily available in the frozen food section, but it is usually between $4-5 for a package of 4.
With the mix at this price, it works out to about .25 per muffin as opposed to $1 each for the frozen ones in the supermarket.
You can freeze them after you make them and then cook for about 30 sec to defrost them in the micro or take out the night before to thaw.
My kids LOVE them too - DD just saw the package I was looking at for the above info and is now begging me to make them. Even my husband thinks they aren't bad - and he is Mr. No lowfat/fatfree anything.
They are great as a low point breakfast or midafternoon snack with coffee.

Costco now carries them. I think there are 9 or more to the box - I can't recall the exact amount but it's a bargain.
