how many docs?

How many different opinions did you go seek when you first started with this business?

Right now I have 3 appointments with different REs but I dont know who I should go to- I was thinking of going to 2 different ones but I dont know if that's excessive.

based on recs from this board i only went to one and it was the best decision i ever made and i havent looked back since.

At first I went to the RE that my GYN rec. After a while with no success I sought out a second opinion rec by a friend. The secnd opinion was not going to change anything from my first RE so I did not go to him. Then I sought out a thrid opinion based on the recs from LIF, and am currently being treated by him.

I've only been to one RE. My friend got PG with the practice and it's right on my way to work with hours that are convenient for me.

I went to my first RE based on a reccomendation from my GYN as well, although they are brothers so he may have been biased. I ended up going to a new RE for a second opinion since finding the first one is not really being agressive enough in my treatment. I have now switched to new RE.

I went to one on a recommendation from my gyno, then after almost a year decided to get a 2nd opinion. Went for 2nd opinion and that dr didn't find anything different than the first RE. I liked the first RE personality much better, so i went back to the first RE

i think you have to be comfortable with the personality of the RE you see, the hours that the office is open (you will be going frequently so need something convenient to either home or work) and all of that is something that you only find out after seeing them for a few cycles.

So pick one, see if you click, if you do great. if not then try someone else.
I think it can't hurt to get a 2nd opinion anyway no matter if you like your dr or not.

I am thinking the same thing also. I have two this month and already I am feeling drained and I havent even gone yet. DH feels that ultimatly I will wind up back with RE#1 but at least i tried.

went to 3. 2 gave me the same protocol the other one didnt. i went with the one of the two i felt most comfortable with. the other one saw dollar signs and that bothered me righ off the bat

eta: im very proactive and for me interviewing even 2 drs wouldnt be enough even if others has recommended him/her. WHat may work for one person may not work for others...

I only went to one. The practice was recommended by my OB and a friend who had success with them. We felt comfortable with them during our initial consultation and have been happy with them since.

I am now on my 4th and I won't go anywhere else. It took me a while to get to a place where I am so happy with my doctor and comfortable that I will not go anywhere else. I love my doctor now and I have such a good, relaxed feeling with him that I never had with the other places.

Only 1, but he is one of the best in the field, and I was confident with his ability to help from the start.

I wouldn't even buy a dress without trying on a few I think 2 or 3 is a smart idea, if nothing else, you can feel better knowing that you made an educated decision.
