Can we talk turkey?

I'm hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for 20+ family members and am ordering a turkey so I can focus on making the side dishes.

For those who have ordered turkey before, could you answer some questions?

- who makes the best turkey for order?
- how much $$ per lb. is reasonable?
- is smoked better or unsmoked?
- boneless turkey or on the bone?
- is 1 lb. per person enough?

we usually have 15 +. my parents get a full turkey about 20-25 pounds and then since there are a lot of white meat lovers we get a turkey breast.

most people like fresh turkey, but i don't taste a difference with fresh or frozen. price depends on brand name of turkey and whether it is fresh or frozen.
