Girls who have the CBEFM

Is it worth it? Do you also temp? Do you think it really gives you much more info than temping/checking CM and using OPK's?

Wal-mart has a bundle pack right now, it's the monitor and a 30 day box of the sticks for $179 so i'm thinking about gettign it but I just don't know if it's going to be that helpful.

I used this for the whole time we tried!!

I think it's very useful. Some months I even used it in conjunction with OPK's. I would use the CBEFM with FMU and then opk's at night so I could better pinpoint my surge.

For example I was able to see a :) on the opk.... and a high on the CBEFM.... so I KNEW the next day on the CBEFM would be a peak because I got the smiley on the opk and I knew to that night for sure!!

I def am glad i had it. It confirmed things for me.... and for you with temping and all... it will confirm even more because everything will be in alignment.

That's also a really good price. I paid much more for mine and that was without sticks!!

I don't think it hurts to add a lil something new into the mix!

What's nice about the CBEFM that you don't get using other instruments... is you get 0-2 high days... so you know when O is coming (there were some months I didn't get a high it just jumped straight to peak) and then you get 2 peak (ovulation) days as opposed to the usual 1.

The ONLY thing is... I hear with some people who have PCOS or some other issues, it doesn't work with them. But if opk's work for you then the CBEFM should def work for you too!!!

And do not miss a test... that can mess up the CBEFM for a few cycles....

To sum it up.. yes I would go for it!!!

I prefer the CBEFM to the opk's.

But I'd use the CBEFM, opk's and deanna's plan.

Once you get a high on CBEFM start everyday until your peak time is over... that could be anywhere from 3 to 5 (if not more) days in a row!!!

coming from someone who also has PCOS, i think its just as useless as OPKs.
i would just temp and monitor CM and use the occasional OPK.

Thanks for the input ladies. The pcos is what is holding me back but it really seems like the metformin is startung to work. With last cycle getting a smiley for the first time without o inducing meds and ewcm and then this cycle I just got ewcm again and the opk's are getting darker again and it looks like I may o again on my own I just feel like it may be an option. Especially since I have issues and use wayyy too many opk's. I figured if I'm spending the money on those every month I may as well just get the cbefm ya know? I dunno. I told dh that maybe we'd see what happens for the next couple of months and if I O on my own consistently then after the holidays if I still haven't gotten a bfp I'll get it.

Anyway sorry that got so long, just thinking out loud I guess thanks again!

I also asked the same question on the infertility board because I wondered if it was worth the expense when you have PCOS. I already use OPKs, but this month is the first I used them and did not get a smiley. I want to move onto temping as well and plan to use them in conjunction with one another.

The monitor plus sticks you found on Walmart is a great deal!!!
