I know they say you should use FMU but is it absolutely necessary? Will my results be totally off if I used an evening or late night urine?

there is more concentration of hcg in FMU because you dont go to the bathroom for a while...
chances are the closer to AF the more accurate the test will be any time of day

i agree with ang. if you are testing early you should use FMU. after AF is due it shouldn't really matter as much.

Re: Does the time to take pregnancy test really matter?
well just to play devils advocate, i tested at 7dp5dt (12dpo) at 10pm with the furthest thing from FMU and got a ridiculously dark positive. the next morning i tested with FMU and it was DEF fainter than the one i took the previous night. i had my beta the day of the FMU test and it was 197 so both tests shouldve been really dark. the second one was dark but not nearly as dark as the one i took at night.
thats not to say that normally you shouldnt use FMU.. i was just totally surprised by my results being darker the night before I used FMU, especially since my beta was doubling at a normal rate.
