spinoff of hospitals
i had a gyno appt last week and i was able to talk to her about all my questions/concerns.
my gyno is affiliated with north shore hospital in manhasset and plainview. does anyone have any feedback on either of these?
i've been to the one in plainview to visit some people, but never in the maternity ward.

Re: spinoff of hospitals
I delivered DD at Manhasset and will do the same with #2.
I LOVED LOVED LOVEDDDD my experience there. The nurses and docs were so nice and caring and really helped me through. I can't say enough good things about them

Re: spinoff of hospitals
I volunteered as a candy striper for 4 years at NSUH Manhasset in the maternity ward, and my step-mom is one of the heads of quality management there -- it's a fabulous hospital. They're in the process of building a whole women's pavillion, too, but I don't know how long it will be until that's done. My mom also had her kidney transplant there last August and they were great every step of the way.
If I still lived in NY, I'd definitely be giving birth there. I'm a little sad I'm not going to be! But I think an 8 hour drive to have a baby would be a little silly.

I think the WOmens pavillion should be done early next year but I will double check since my company is building it.
The hospital gets great reviews so I wouldnt have 2nd thoughts about delivering there.

Re: spinoff of hospitals
Everyone I know delivered at manhasset and I hear it is the best. My first doctor was affiliated with this hospital but I moved to eastern nassau and couldn't find anyone by my house affiliated with them. With my work schedule I needed a doctor 5 minutes away so I picked someone affiliated with plainview. A girl I know delivered there and loved it.
