Please give me other ideas to add!
We are doing a surprise cocktail party next weekend for my parents 40th anniversary... We only want to do heavy appetizers--no big meals...and we will also have dessert--a cake and some minis
Here is what is on the list so far:
deviled eggs Cold Dill and Garlic Dip in bread bowl mini sandwich wraps some kind of tomato/mozzarella stuffed bread hot clam dip refried beans and cheese dip meatballs in moms sauce kielbasa in sauce shrimp cocktail chips and dip BLue Cheese crisps Hot crab dip
I have 3 other people making something...
My one aunt thinks we need to add something else more substantial too...We were also considering doing chicken wings...
Any other suggestions/ideas?

Lollipop lambchops are probably my favorite appetizer. Marinate in lemon juice, rosemary, salt and lots of garlic with a little oil for at least a few hours - then just broil or grill until cooked through.. only a few minutes because they are small. They get devoured.
BLT tomatoes
Mini Quiche
Cheese board with various cheese and fruits and crackers - and accompanying dried meats/sausage board with salami, pepperoni, soppresatta.
Prosciutto with Melong
Bacon wrapped scallops
Veggie Crudite
Sushi
Smoked Salmon on crostini

Bruschetta
Homemade guac + chips.
Also we got a bunch of the different flavored wings for a GTG once at Checkers of all places.
Everyone loved them.

You could do Buffalo Chicken meatballs. Similar to wings but less messy and really easy.
Buffalo Chicken Meatballs
Just wanted to add that I would love to crash your party because everything sounds delicious. I'd love the dill and garlic dip recipe if you get a chance!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Spinach Pies Pigs in a blanket - sprinkle sesame seeds on them for a "gourmet" look. I use the dough from the Pillsbury French bread and sprinkle on some seeds. Cut up some kosher franks. They are a big hit. Cheese plate - brie, fontina are big hits too Cut up veggies and a spinach dip

Re: Please give me other ideas to add!
I was watching Foodnetwork yesterday - Sandra Lee had a Halloween special. She made rolled flank steak. She cut the steak in 1/2 and then make 2 rolls nxt to each other. Then she skewered them 1 1/2" apart and cut in the middle so each stick had 2 bites. Then she cooked them - seems easy and quick.

Empanadas are a bit of work but they can be made ahead and frozen
Meat ones are a little bit more labor intensive since you have to cook the meat first, but I made spinach and cheese ones that wasn't too difficult.
And suprisingly enough, all of the meat loving men actually preferred the spinach to the meat!
