Quick Insurance Question

I just want to make sure that when I renew one of the meds, it still counts for the same cycle. I have GHI and I am only covered for 3 cycles of injectibles. If I have 3 refills, it will all count for one cycle? Just want to double check before I mess something up.

Thanks so much!!!

Re: Quick Insurance Question

You can only order the injections a total for 3 times, even if it's for the same cycle. It's just 3 times- that's why you should order the MAXIMUM amount they will order you even thought you don't think you will need it.

For example, I just started an IUI cycle and have 9 pens of 900ius of gonal f! Chat Icon I will never use it all, but with a limited number of refills, it only makes sense to do it that way!

In answer to your question..it has been suggested that yes...it will count as 1 time...BUT....I have not gotten to that point myself so I can't confirm. At the very least for now...order as large an initial order as possible just in case it does not work out that way.

Re: Quick Insurance Question

I just had this discussion with GHI. You are allowed 3 "fills" of a medication. It doesn't matter if it's a refill or not. The suggestion I got from Freedom Pharmacy was that I have the doctor call in a prescription for more medication than I would possibly need. This way I can utilize the meds for a 2nd round if necessary without using up one of my "fills".
