Planet Fitness

Anyone a member? Pro/Cons would be great before I join..the price is so cheap right now but I would love some feedback if anyone has any :) TIA

I use to go to the PF in Farmingdale (I switched gyms b/c I moved).

Pros:
Most facilities are new and very clean
A lot of equipment
VERY CHEAP!!!!!

Con:
No classes (but that is what keeps the cost down)

If you know how to work out that I would def. join you cannot beat the price.

I used to belong to PF in Carle Place but I didn't like it so I ended up going back to synergy.

PROs:
cheap
you can bring a guest any time

CONs:
No classes
ALot of younger kids go
VERY crowded
The one I went to the parking was awful

I was also a member of the one in farmingdale/melville for about 2 years.

If you are just looking for machines its great. The hours are good, the cardio is good...I also like to do the circuit when I am cut for time.

You can't beat the price either.

I go to the one in Carle Place and I love it. I've only been going there for 2 weeks now but I haven't been having any problems with fighting any crowds to get to any of the equipment. My DH and I joined for only $10 each and that's it! No cancellation fees and only $10 per month, you can't beat that! There are no classes, but I never liked using those anyway - I always like to work out at my own pace! There are people of all ages, sizes, and fitness status. Never have a problem with finding parking. I always park right by the front entrance. As long as you're not looking for any classes, it's the ideal place to workout! My DH and I are so glad we joined!

I think you have all talked me into it..and at $10 a month what do I have to loose..except a few pounds! LOL

Good choice! I currently go to the one in Farmingdale and it works for me.

i go to the one in centereach. i really like it. the price is amazing and the hours are great. they have pizza and bagels every month. the only thing that i miss is the classes but it has everything else.

I wish there was one by me! I'd definitely join. My gym costs a lot more & I don't use the classes anyway.

I go to PF pretty much for the treadmill in the winter. Sure there are no classes, but I usually do not take classes, so it is not a big deal to me.

I cannot decide if I should join the one on my way home from work....or the one closer to my house? What do you think...

I belong to one. I like it. Tons of cardio machines, never a wait for a machine. Lots of different weight machines, plenty of free weights. I like the circuit training area for quick workouts. It's clean, it's simple. that's all I need.

very clean
good quality equipment

CONS

no classes so workouts can get a little mundane...
