Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
.. if you can remember back that far!
I only got married 3 years ago but all I can remember at the moment is the amazing Penne with Plugra Butter Cream sauce and the Chilean Sea Bass.. I have to go home and check my menus for more!
I looked back at my wedding stuff! Among the cocktail hour goodies were: herbed lollipop lambchops, a sushi station, carving station with turkey breast and pork loin, artisan cheeses, marscapone with strawberries, puff'n puppies and a crepe station.
Dinner entrees were: Prime Rib with au jus, Sea Bass with some delicious buerre citron type sauce, French cut chicken stuffed with some sort of tastiness. Pink lemonade sorbet for an intermezzo.
Dessert was NY style cheese cake with liquor soaked strawberries, a chocolate fountain and cake.. which was SUPPOSED TO BE a red velvet cake with fresh berries and napoleon cream.. but Rolling Pin screwed up and made it yellow cake with the correct filling.

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
we had 7 choices.
I had the filet mignon potato and sauteed green beans.
the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. the potato was luxurious-creamy buttery decadent. delicious.
even the green beans..you could tell they were cooked in fat...they gave off that oh so pleasant mouth feel.
we also had a yummy salad.
I think I have a picture of the full menu.
the cocktail hour was a delicious blur.
I loved the food at the Westbury Manor.

Oh so good. The food at the Hamlet Willow Creek in Mount Sinai is awesome. Cocktail Hour I hardly got anything but I know it was all amazing based on our guests. For dinner we had a duet salad/appetizer (field greens with a goat cheese crostini and a tomato/mozz tower which was amazing!), entrée I had was herb crusted chicken with a creamy gorgonzola sauce which was to die for, DH had the filet which was apparently also amazing, we also had a fish but I can’t remember what it was since neither of us ate it. And our wedding cake was so good, white chocolate almond cake with dark chocolate mousse filling. YUM. Also coupled with a molten lava cake and vanilla ice cream. DH recreated our wedding dinner at home on our first anniversary and it was so good!

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
We did an all-vegetarian affair, as DH and I are veggies for compassionate and ethical reasons.
No reason to slack in the food department, though
Our entree choices were:
Veggie stir-fry with basmati rice and fried tofu
Eggplant Rollatini
Roasted red pepper with mushroom risotto
Pasta primavera
Cocktail hour was a huge hit...cheeses, salads, butternut squash ravioli, polenta, samosas, chotputi (an Indian chickpea salad), pierogies, hummus, fruit display...lots of other stuff too.
I had a lot of people tell me that they tried new foods that they never had before

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
It was an obnoxious amount of food, as most NY weddings I have been to are
One thing I am so glad we splurged for bc people LOVED was the raw bar

I got married there too!! It was sooo good! And yeah - we still have people tell us that the food was amazing!
I think it's funny because when I was getting married there were so few HWC brides compared to places like CLM .. but you do a food thread and the HWC peeps come right out of hiding!!

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
We got married in MD, so everyone said we had to have crabcakes. Rather than having a choice, everyone got filet and crabcake. It was delicious. I can't remember our apps, but I remember we had a variety of desserts including cheesecake pops, YUM!

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
We got married two years ago. We were so busy with pictures and stuff we hardly got to eat. We had a choice of 11 entrees but our BM gave us a special option - the filet and lobster tail. From what I remember eating, it was good. We have a wedding to go there next year so I can't wait to finally get a chance to enjoy the food!

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
I can't ever forget b/c the food was so good and I picked everything for the cocktail hour including those passed...
for the main courses we had a napolean of chicken breast, the fish was red snapper (almost 8 years ago there was that drama about the chilean seabass being over fished so it wasn't offered) and chateau briand.
All three dishes had different sides... I believe the fish came w/ rice, the beef w/ masehd and the chicken w/ roasted potatoes.
edited to add:
the cocktail hour we had 10 different passed, but don't remember exactly what..
Then we had a mashed potato bar w/ all the fixings, a carving station- but it had a ham and I think corned beef? we had a pasta station, peking duck station w/ dumplings, and a cheese & crudites station.. and one more- can't remember.

Re: Spinoff: Tell me about YOUR wedding banquet.
my wedding was at the fox hollow. everyone raved about how great the food was. I didn't really get to eat a lot of the CH food unfortunately which seemed to be the best part. We were so busy talking, our BA put together a plate of every dish from CH which DH and I tried to scarf down quickly before the start of the reception. At the reception, I had a chicken entree, it was okay.

Russo's On the Bay...12 dinner choices we actually sampled all of them that night. Also we add Lobster & Sushi to the Cocktail hour best thing we ever did, everyone still raves about it.
