Re: meds question..
I've taken Provera many times and never had any side effects, so no worries.
I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own either. Don't let that diagnosis bring you down... it can and will happen for you!!!
GOOD LUCK!!

Re: meds question..
I was given provera 2 different times to jump start my period when cycles were over 90 days after coming off BC.
I never had any side effects from it at all. Except to get my period. They did make me do a PG test before taking it each time because you cannot take it if you're pregnant.
I had very irregular cycles and cysts over the years but was never diagnosed with PCOS. Are you working with an RE or your GYN? As far as Chlomid goes, you can't take it forever -- there is a limit to how many cycles of it you can take over a lifespan. So just make sure you're working with an expert before you start. Some GYNs who are not fertility experts will proscribe chlomid when there are other options available or will prescribe it without considering the lifetime limitations on it.
I've heard wonderful success stories, though! Good luck Gina!

Re: meds question..
I have taken Provera on numerous occasion with the only side effect being stronger cramps.
As for Clomid I would only take it if they are going to monitor you closely. I got PG on Clomid my first cycle with only a little bit of bloating however my Ovaries are still swollen at 14w3d (causing the no rule until OB check next week.
Good luck
