anyone going to the regular md before ttc..
im not sure if i should go to the regular md before we start trying in dec..
i have some heart issues so i do go to a reg doc and a cardiologist but im thinking maybe i should go just before we try to make sure everything is ok
im sure im being paranoid but just curious if anyone went to go get a physical before they ttc..tia

Yeah I totally did the whole workup just before and while we were TTC. Besides my regular GP, I did some other stuff I'd put off. My dad has a clotting disorder and I even went to a specialist to be tested to see if I had it as well. It can never hurt to find out that you're in good health (or if not, to start taking steps to help get yourself in better health) before you're TTC. That way you can be prepared to correct or address any complications that may come up.

I think it's a good idea.... I went to the Dr for a "checkup" and had bloodwork done to get the green light. The dentist awas also on that list in case I needed anything done.. I know you can't have any dental work (except cleanings) while pg...

You actually can have a lot of dental work done while PG -- they just try not to take xrays if they can avoid it. But even that, they can cover you up well and take it. Just so you don't worry if something comes up and you end up having to go to the dentist... but a pre-PG appointment is also a good idea.

yeah as you can see my other post about ttc and medication. that nobody responded to lol
i went to both of my specialists to get their advice. it wasnt what i wanted to hear, but im glad i did because now i know what i need to do to prepare.

i did. i just had my yearly physical and told her we were TTC, she ran the usual blood tests and told me i needed to lose 30 lbs (im 150, mind you)
but my blood work came out ok, other then my high cholosterol. and she gave me the green light to continue TTC

Really? I thought it was a novacaine thing... lol thanks for the update! Hopefully I won't have any problems while pg.. I just have to GET pg

I didn't got for a physical but I did go to the gyno just to make sure everything looked good in that department. I feel like I go to the regular doctor every month with some ailment or another so I am staying away for a bit!
