Ok, Thanks all for making me feel better about my taxes. Out here in Southern Cal they are 1.25% of your purchase price.

I don't live in NY, so my taxes don't compare (and I still complain!  ). Just wanted to send  to you all...it must be great to get most of it back at year's end, but paying taxes (no matter the amount) is a PITA!
What do you mean get most of it back at year's end? We don't get a thing back - except a nice new tax increase letter...

We are currently at $8,100 but are hopping that with greaving they will go down a bit.
Village tax is about $550-$600 a year

really confusing but zip is northport, town is smithtown, SD is kings park
- property size is 1.2 acres
- taxes w/ star are a little over 10k
