ready to chuck my opks (vent)
i hate those stupid things. last month, no smiley. AF on CD 49. this month, i cheaped out and bought the line tests and still nothing. faint lines. today is CD 18. i really just hate hate hate how inadequate they make me feel. blah! we have been BDing every other day since CD 10 so i hope something happens. im going nuts over here.

no i havent. i got a smiley in my first cycle (but very late) so i thought i was ok. im thinking if this month is a bust i may start. this is month 3 of TTC

ya know, i haven't had a lot of success with them either after great expense and effort to hold pee, limit fluids, etc. i too got panicky about not ovulating. i gave temping another go-around, and now i have a pretty clear idea of when.
i think some girls (like me, and maybe you) just metabolize the LH surge before you can get a read on it. you're not alone. they're not all 99% perfect like the box says.

yeah I would definitely give it a try bc even getting a positive OPK doesn't mean your guaranteed to O.

OPKs dont confirm that anything actually happened other than an LH spike. if your cycles are long and you aren't getting a surge until very late, you really should temp and confirm you are really Oing. if you are Oing but consistently very late in the cycle (like CD30+) you may want to talk to your doctor cause late O can (but not always) lead to poorer egg quality.
