How do you make lasagna?
I bought all the ingredients, but have never made it before!

Cook the noodles (if you got the ones you need to boil in water) until they are really al dente. You don't want mushy noodles.
Then just layer noodles, sauce, cheeses over and over.
I always add salt, pepper, and other spices to the ricotta.

i don't cook the noodles. I buy regular noodles and just make a thin sauce and it cooks them perfectly al dente, and it's such a time saver!! I've tried them but am not a fan of the no-boil noodles.
Make the sauce however you like it. separate some and if you are doing raw noodles (we use whole wheat), add a little hot water to thin the sauce that you layer in with the lasagna. then just layer with your cheese mixture, sauce, noodles, etc.
Now I want lasagna!

Well now that I'm watching Michael Symon's version I am sooooooo switching!
He made a meat ragout with beef, pork and veal and layered with noodles and cheese...nothing crazy but looked amazing!

Barilla lasagna (the one you don't have to boil)
put a little sauce in the casserole dish so the pasta doesn't stick
then noodles
meat/sauce
ricotta cheese
mozzarella cheese
and repeat with noodles...
so easy and yummy!
