Food for Thought

So DH and I went to Church today and in short the homily was about how we need to stop looking for what will make us happy and start enjoying what we have already that makes us happy and completes our life now.... so ladies, what are we thankful for?

Me? I have an amazing sexy surgeon husband (sorry ladies, I just picked him up from work today and those scrubs and white coat did it for me Chat Icon ) we have an adorable little co-op, I'm a teacher with my certification for administration. We have a supportive trustworthy fun lovin' group of friends and family that we just celebrated the wedding of our dreams with. We have had countless trips and experiences together like Bora Bora and with our friends like Vegas Baby! We're able to take naps whenever we want, drink wine, come and go as we please and we just had some good tacos for dinner as I write this to you in my very cozy bed dry from the rain.

Anyway, I'm just hoping that this helps you girls as I felt that they homily was a sign to just take a breath and relax and enjoy life and all its experiences! BTW, I was at my whit's end this morning crying while waiting for DH and now I feel a lot better! Of course, while we're having a good time doing whatever makes us happy and the Chat Icon here's some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for us all!Chat Icon

Very well said... your post actually made me feel better... I've been down lately but I guess I have so many positive and amazing things in my life that I should be happy with and am...eveuntally I will have a healthy baby and expand our family but for now I guess it's good to focus on the good and not the bad.

Re: Food for Thought

im overly proud and greatful for my loving husband who does and will do anything in his power to allow me to be a SAHM to our beautiful healthy 14month old daughter who is the best thing thats happened to the both of us. We have a new home that may not be perfect to anyone other then us but its OURS and its perfect to us! He has a fabulous job that he loves and im a nurse who will eventually go back to school!!! i have alot to be greatful for an sometimes it takes something to slap you in the face for you to realize all the good in your life and for you to sit back and appreciate what you already have! Re: Food for Thought

I have reflected on that very same concept. I was talking to DH one night and said "well YEAH I want a baby...but not at the cost of my relationship" He is my best friend and if TTC is going to stress our relationship then I'll hold off until we can TTC with less stress.

Re: Food for Thought

I was just sitting outside with DH on our balcony enjoying a glass of red wine thinking this very same thing to myself.
We put in an offer on a house today and we decided that we are ok if we don't get it because we really have a great life where we are with no commitments.

We live in a fabulous luxury apartment where all maintenance is taken care of. I just got a promotion at work. I get to work in Manhattan and DH owns his own business. We have taken such amazing vacations to all parts of the world. We have all our family nearby. We have a lot of fun together even when it's just the two of us. We are able to pick up and go whenever we want. And not to be too materialistic but I have a shoe and bag collection to die for Chat Icon Chat Icon (Dh is always pointing out to me that we are going to have to sell my shoes if we want a baby and a house Chat Icon ).

Re: Food for Thought

LOVE this!! I forget to stop and be thankful for what we are blessed with. GO YOU!!! We have a life that many are only reminiscent of! I know we all have a common goal.. but in the mean time, I will toast with my glass of wine and say, Im thankful for my life with DH and a wonderful, supportive group of family and friends... I can sleep in and stay up late, I can continue to travel and enjoy the life Ive made with hubby!! I will enjoy my "me" time and be selfish of my time alone...
Our time will come ladies... in the mean time, CHEERS!! Chat Icon
