Another Zumba anecdote (especially for those who think you CAN'T do it)
I have been thinking about this since I heard the story.
I was at the Zumba convention a few weeks ago (yeah yeah yeah, I know ) and some women shared their stories.
Now bear in mind - these are Zumba instructors at this convention sharing their stories....
2 years ago, this woman was riding her horse, the horse fell, landed ON her, and crushed her spine.
She was in critical condition, had the priest there for last rites, her family, etc - and she held on.
A few days later when she gained consciousness, they told her she is a miracle to be alive, but she will never walk again.
Her friend came to visit her everyday, and told her that she WILL walk, she WILL get better, and as soon as she does, she is taking her to her Zumba class (OK - now I'm tearing up )
she was like, "What's Zumba?"
When her friend told her, she was like - "Are you crazy? I'm never going to walk again!"
But she did. She had several surgeries, but she recovered and kept getting better. And she DID make it to the Zumba class, but could hardly do anything. But she fell in love with it.
She got better and better and better, and of course kept going to Zumba.
2 Years later, this woman is a Zumba instructor. And she looks amazing. And although her pelvis is fused together, she can MOVE!
So, when someone says: I'm old, I can't move well, I'm fat. I'm not conditioned, etc - I think of stories like this!
