Re: Girls on clomid
it only increases the chances by about 8%...I wouldn't be too worried about it

Re: Girls on clomid
i took it and it did nothing for me at all, i didnt produce any follies at all (i have PCOS). i woudnt be terribly worried about multiples with it, especially if you are starting at 50mg. i went right to injectables the next cycle which carries a much higher risk of multiples.
are you being monitored by a doctor or RE while on it? if so you will know off the bat how many follies you are working with so you will know the risk. if not, i highly recommend seeing a doctor that will monitor you. fertility meds are no joke and some doctors give them out like candy. worse than multiples clomid carries the risk of severely deteriorating your uterine lining and drying up your CM, especially the more cycles its used. also, being monitored will tell you if its working or not, so you wont waste time and cycles thinking you are ovulating if its not helping.

Re: Girls on clomid
It was my gyn that was thinking about putting me on it because I did not get af for 6o days. After reading about it online and previous threads from ladies on here I don't think I want to take it. I'll know on tuesday what is going on bc I had blood work done to check my hormone levels. The dr said that my follicles were enlarged and I might have pcos.
I was reading about vitex and was going to talk to him about trying that first. Anyone hear success stories from using it?

if you have PCOS and are anovulatory you should def see an RE. an ob/gyn really won't be able to give you the time and specific, highly effective protocols that an RE will. ob/gyn just aren't well practiced in ovulation induction techniques (other than clomid) and you will save yourself much time and anguish waiting to ovulate if you go straight to an RE whose main job is to get you pregnant.
i was d/x with PCOS in november 2009. it took a little while for me to accept it, but i went on to see an RE and it was by FAR the best TTC decision I have ever made.
good luck !! if you have any questions feel free to FM. PCOS isnt the worst thing in the world, just a little annoying. but it is treatable and almost all of us do get pregnant at some point, it just may not be exactly the path you expected.
