Spoke to soon

Hey everybody, i never posted on TTC boards, but i did lurke pretty much everyday, you guys really helped me learn a lot. So last friday i got my BFP but i guess i spoke to soon...
Cuz i am no longer pregnant!
i am assuming i had a chemical pregnancy but the dumb a$$es in the emergency room didnt tell me that, im just saying that cuz its the only thing that makes sense.

i woke up last night with cramps...went to the bathroom and noticed i was spotting, went back to bed and couldnt fall alseep knowing that something was wrong. went to the bathroom again, and noticed there was more blood! told DH and we decided to go to the emergency room. well they took some blood and a urine sample,
came back to tell me the urine sample came back and it came back negative looked at me like i was a nut and asked me why i thought i was pregnant! umm cuz i took a test!! then they said just had to wait for the blood test. so eventally they came back and found the hcg was there but umm really low so he said i would only be a week pregnant, and would have to come back and have more blood taken to see if it increases...so i asked well then why am i bleeding????!?!! ( at this point like a normal 1st day of my period) and he says i dont know! just go and get another blood test done.

i've read up enought about it to know it must be a chemical it just annoys me that the emergency room couldnt even figure that out!!

now i really feel like im never going to have a baby...im really upset right now and so is DH and i feel so awful i think more cuz i see how upset DH is. i feel like a failure.

well i really hope to be back here soon!!!
does anyone know how long after a chemical you can start trying again??

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how difficult it must be. A good friend of mine experienced a chemical pregnancy recently. She was devestated. The next month, she got pregnant again and is now 8 weeks along. Try to stay positive. Good luck to you. Chat Icon

I had a mc this august. My dr wasn't sure if it was a chemical or etopic but my numbers were really low. After tons of bloodwork (because I'm RH Negative) he said it was most likely just chemical so I only had to wait one full cycle.
Sorry to hear that this happened to you but good luck ttc again.

Re: Spoke to soon

Im so sorry you went through that! I experienced the exact same thing at 6 weeks.. woke up in the middle of the night with cramping and bleeding, went to the ER and they told me I was likely miscarrying... it was also a chemical pregnancy... though it doesnt make it any easier.
The Dr did say we could start trying right away, which we did.. it happened about 4 months ago... Im waiting for my BFP! And my fingers are crossed for you and DH. IT seems the hospital should have given you more info though... Chat Icon

i had 2 chemicals. first one the beta was really low and we were able to ttc again immediately. second time it was higher and i didnt actually m/c until 5W2D and we were told to wait a full cycle to start over.

sorry you are going through this. sorry the ER were such idiots. hopefully it will never happen again but if it does then def wait for your doctor and don't bother with the ER unless you are in severe pain. there is nothing they could do for you anyway, and your regular doctor will likely do a much better and more caring job diagnosing you.

once again, so sorry, chemicals suck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
