I love Chianti, but I didn't think it was a good beginner wine. Its a bit heavy.
Beajoulais Nouveau is good for people who don't like red wine.
Montepulciano might also work.

I would definitely try Sweet Scarlet by Pindar... its sweet. I didn't like red wine either, but that is what got me started!

i like sweet wine, so the only red i've found that i like is red sweety by martha clara-they add sugar during the process so it def. is sweeter than other red wines

I am a big white wine fan, and used to never drink red. My cousin works for Paumonauk Vineyards on the North Fork. She got us a bottle of their Festival Red. It was AWESOME. The only red I drink and I love it.
