Has anyone had to have someone besides DH take you for the ET?
He'll only be able to take off for the ER (not like he has a choice there)...and unless we did a 5dt (VERY UNLIKELY), I'll have to ask my Mom to take me for the ET. I was ok with it at first but the more I think about it...I'm just sad. This whole process has been miserable enough and now I can't even have DH at the transfer??? Anyone else have to deal with this? And did you let the person come in for the transfer? I love my Mom and all but...NOT who I imagined being there at the potential moment of "conception"...

Where I go DHs arent allowed in the room for the actual transfer but he waited right outside in the "recovery" area.
For my most recent one, DH was outside with our DC because we didnt have a choice so I was alone before and after. It wasnt too bad.

Hey Shawnna,
I haven't seen u on here in awhile and hope things have been going okay.
My mom went w/ me for my ET. DH had to work. It was a bit weird at first but so many things throughout the whole process were weird that in some ways, I was amused by it. (They wouldn't let anyone go in the room w/ me, but mom waited outside.)
Hang in there.
so hard for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH is a teacher and could not take off too many days. For my first IVF I drove myself to the ET. And for my second my sister took me and she came in the room with me.

The ET is really no big deal. My DH came with me & waited until they took me & then left. No one was allowed in the room (it was the same room surgical room they did the ER in) & i hung out in recovery by myself & went home on my own.
Good Luck!!!

For one of my FET's my DH was away on business. My mom came with me and waited in the waiting room and came to sit with me in the recovery room. It was really nice to have her there. It'll all work out. Best of luck

Ok, I feel better now knowing this isn't happening to only me! Thanks for sharing. Still debating about having her in the room for the transfer...

When we went for out FET there was a woman there with her friend for support. The friend stayed in the waiting room but was by her side before and after. When my friend did her IUI she was by herself. Her DH went to the dr early in the morning to give his sample and she went back later to have the procedure done. I am so happy for you!!!

Re: Has anyone had to have someone besides DH take you for the ET?
DH would try to get out of tx too but since we dont' tell anyone what we are doing, he's the only one who can take me. Really the conception part is done. I think its no big deal if he's there or not. Doesn't make him a bad person. Its all so difficult and I would recommend just going with the flow (so to speak...lol). Makes your life easier. SO many other things to come you'll need him for, lucky that your Mom can take you.
And good luck...haven't heard from you in a while...glad you went forward.
