Who takes Prednisone
Dr prescribed me 10 mg 2x a day...am i going to gain weight?

I am taking 10 mg once a day. It's not bad at all as I havent had any side effects. I did gain a little weight but that is because I stopped exercising. You should be fine. Good luck.

I did gain a little weight, but I was on it for over 6 months and it was mostly water weight.
I also had some facial hair growth and some pimples.

I was taking 30mg a day. I did gained a little weight, it made me very hungry. Good Luck

I was put on Prednisone last month to treat Optic Neuritis. I was on a much higher dosage than you, but I gained weight (mostly water weight) and my face broke out like crazy.

Does it go away when you stop. I am alreday a good 30 pounds overweight...im so upset about having to take it...do you think if im real strict at eating I can avoid it...

I was on a lot of prednisone for months (30-40mg). I gained a crap load of weight because you are constantly starving. I also developed terrible acne/rash on my face, neck and chest. I also got facial hair. It was a really fun time! I was totally depressed but in the end it was worth it because I have a very healthy DD. Though for the next pregnancy, I am going to try and avoid it.

I was 5 months pregnant at the time and for the week that I was on the meds, I gained 10 lbs!!! Once I stopped, I lost most of it but it's right back on again due to the pregnancy. It took a week or two for my face to clear up though.. that was the worst part for me bc I never really had acne.
While you are on the meds, try to limit your carb/salt intake and that should help. Just remember that it's the meds causing the weight gain... not what you are eating. I think it's inevitable unfortunately.

Yup!! Weight gain and the facial fuzz! (What's up w/ that???)
I had what I call the moon face from being bloated.
It all went away the minute I stopped taking it. You gotta do what you gotta do!

I was up to 40 mg a day, but am being weened off due to m/c.
I did notice some pimples on my face and chest area.

I started taking it before I got PG then continued until about 14 weeks. Id say I was puffy; I dont think I necessarily gained weight from it.
It did make me very jittery though. I also had high BP towards the end. You do start to feel better once you are off it but for me, it took a little time to feel normal again.
You gotta do what you gotta do though. Its all for the greater good

The bloated face and swollen look definitely went away once I got off. The facial hair fell out too. The acne/rash improved but they left little red marks all over that I still have now five months post partum. The dermatologist says they will go away but it is going to take more time.

I gained a lot of weight, I was on it for about 6 months. I got the moon face, plus the facial hair. But, it was totally worth it and worked for me! Its only temporary, once you stop taking the meds it'll be amazing how quickly you drop it off...
