no period after stopping BCP
I stopped my BCPs after being on them for about a year. I got my period a few days after I stopped, but I haven't gotten it again in about a month and a half. Is it normal to skip a period after stopping the pill or should I make an appointment with the GYN. I'm a bit worried. TIA.

Yes, this is what Ive heard too. It can take a couple of months for your body to regulate.

Re: no period after stopping BCP
I never got my period after going off the pill. My GYN told me to let him know when we got close to the 90-day mark. At 90 days, he put me on a pill that forced my period to come. After that, I got my second cycle around 85 days on my own. I had to take the force pill one more time around 90 days after that, but after that third cycle, it started coming on its own. I used a calendar to keep track of the days. Some cycles were around 59 days, some closer to 85, and some as little as 34 or 39. It varied a lot.
I thought it was going to be impossible to conceive because of this but once we actually started trying, it only took 3 cycles (about 4 months). I didn't temp or use ovulation packs or anything.
I would talk to your doctor about the fact that you haven't gotten your period at all since going off the pill (the first time right after you finish doesn't really count since it's usually the last cycle the pill caused, unless it was 30+ days later, then it does). They may send you to have a sonogram of your ovaries to make sure that there are no cysts or anything. I had cysts before going on the pill and then I would get them from time to time after I went off. Sometimes they were painful, which is why we kept a watch. When they do a sono of your ovaries and uterus, they can see how thick your lining is and if it appears you need help shedding it this month (ie: the "force" pill as I called it).
Hope that helps!

The exact same thing happened to me. Since we were actively TTC, my doctor prescribed provera. DD was conceived three weeks later! My body just needed a jumpstart :)

This was me before I went on the pill. I am not looking forward to the uncertainty of when it's going to come.

Re: no period after stopping BCP
my first period off BC came 39 days later and my second came 49 days later. BC really messes u up, apparently. i would give it a little more time, then call your doc. during my last cycle, i decided if i got to day 70 i would call. good luck!
