if you have wainscoting, what color
white paint did you use? just white white? theres so many shades of white. and what finish is recommended? we are going to be painting over wood paneling which goes up about 4 feet from the floor. any advice??

i have seen natural (wood stain), white and off white. I guess it depends on the feel of the decor.
To me:
Wood = craftsman, victorian or just more manly
White = cottage and can be victorian
Off white = cottage

We have wainscoting in our daughter's room and we put it up ourselves. It came in white but we glued and nailed it down so after we patched it up we painted it with washable white paint. I don't remember which brand, but we wanted washable.

We have painted all the trim in my house the same shade of white. I have wainscoting in two rooms and we painted it the same as the trim color.

We used white benjamin moore in semi-gloss, same as all the trim in our house.

We have it in the kitchen, hallway (ranch) and upstairs bathroom. It is just white.
