prep for Earl
i was just checking the thread on FHF posted by sprout (thanks btw!)
are you taking any precautionary measures to prep your home for a possible tropical storm?
((new home owner here)))
should we take chairs off the pool deck, tie up the patio set??
we also have a patio set on our balcony (off our dining room - high ranch) tie it up? store it away?
am i being a nervous nelly?

We are definitely putting stuff away and securing stuff that we don't have room to put away. We have a pergola that I think my DH is strapping down.

We don't have anywhere to put the entire patio set on our deck, but we are taking down the umbrella and putting the winter cover over the set. We are taking in any small plants in pots and taking down the flags on our porch and putting the lose cushions on the porch furniture away.

you should probably remove the umbrella, and tie DH to the balcony. Just to see what happens.

we have two outside rooms on our deck... we'll make sure that the doors are secure... and bring the bbq inside... we dont have any out door furniture yet so thats not a problem...

We're first time homeowners too and I think we're just going to bring out patio furniture inside. But I don't know if we should move our grille...

Same here ! We are going to bring the table and chairs in the garage along with the grill, flowerpots, flag and star we have hung on the front of the house. Call us neurotic but basically anything not permanently attached to the house is coming inside... DH actually asked my father if we had to board up the windows

I remember taping up windows for Gloria!
We have stacking patio chairs, so we will stack them and lay them on their side in the corner of the deck. umbrella into the shed. our other set is so heavy that I think it's OK to sit out.
It's all the kids toys that I don't know what to do with!
what about a trampoline and 10x10 permanant golf net?
When TS Ernesto came by, he broke our chain link gate! So they can certainly do damage!!

honestly, we are not doing anything really.... bringing in the umbrella, but other than that, we are leaving everything outside

we will probably just bring in the umbrella from the patio set, pack away the cusions that go on the chairs outside, put away dog toys that are in the yard, make sure hose is rolled up & garbage cans are secure
thats about it
