extreme bloating and nausea
I had two 5 day blasts transferred on August 20th and then left the next morning for vacation. I was feeling good and trying to keep my mind off everything, while not telling my ILs (they cam with us) about what we had just done. I was feeling fine until exactly one week after the transfer. I woke up in the early morning with extreme nausea. My belly had been a little bloated for a couple of days, but became very bloated. This has continued since Friday. I go in tomorrow morning for my beta, so I tested as soon as I got home from vacation last night. It was BFP but I am not counting my chickens, just yet. The line did come up really fast and really dark. Could the bloating and nausea be pg related already? Am I nuts? Could this mean something is wrong?

First off, Congrats on the BFP! This is exactly how I felt before I found out about my BFP!! The nausea wasn't too bad, would just have little waves but the bloating was insane!

thanks for the congrats and the info. I was really beginning to worry. I am 80 pounds lighter than I was when I got pg with DS (via FET) so I figured my body might react differently, but this is crazy. I feel like I look more pg than I did in my 5th month with DS. Hopefully, I will get good news tomorrow and I can hide the bloat until it is safe to "talk."

Re: extreme bloating and nausea
You could have had a mild case of OHSS that got worse when you got pregnant. That's what it sounds like to me. I would ask your dr and monitor your weight. Also, drink lots of fluids!

Yup... that's what's going on. I have been so sick the last two days, but am starting to feel a little better. My doc has limited my fluids, put me on a low-sodium diet, and has me measuring my "input" and "output." I had a sono on Monday and again today and he told me I have about two liters of fluid in my abdomen and my ovaries are huge. This is what is causing the pain, bloating, and nausea. Now, I just have to figure out if I can go to work tomorrow (it's my first day of school for the year) and go to a wedding this weekend. I was in tears when he told me it could take about 3 weeks to subside... but that's a good thing because my beta looks great . Hopefully, things will get better.... why can't anything be easy???

I was "lucky" in that my OHSS got terrible immediately after my transfer but by the time the egg implanted and started producing HCG, it had subsided A LOT. It was REALLY bad for about a week and then my belly went down considerably. I am still bloated, but I think it's a combo of left over bloat from the OHSS and the normal, newly pregnant and on PIO bloat. At least I can hide this...the huge pregnant belly would have been a nightmare with going back to work.
