primary secondary insurance

My primary is GHI and secondary through DH is United. I wanted an ob affliated with Cornell (closer to where I live) and made an appt. with a doc who does not accept GHI but accepts United. When I made the appt. I had this convo and there we no issues.. did this 4 months ago.

Today I get a call, as we are approaching the appt. date, and the lady goes, you do realize that we don't accept your insurance!! So a bit of back and forth later, she tells me that they don't accept GHI, and since it is my primary, they will only bill GHI and not United (though I'm fully covered). I would have to pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed. Now I cancelled my appt. I'm so sad, mad.. ugh.. I was going to discuss ttc and stuff.. Apparently no one in NYC takes GHI, called like 5 docs affiliated with Cornell.

Now I might as well, come back to LI.. either Winthrop or NSUH...
