Renovating the kitchen....
We're in the beginning stages of planning our kitchen renovation! We'd like to knock down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to make the room larger, add more cabinets, some french doors, get new appliances, new floors, new cabinets.....pretty much everything!
I'd LOVE to do a farmhouse style kitchen....but I've never done this before, so I have no idea what the best places are for this stuff.
So I'm looking for suggestions....
Where did you get your:
cabinets?
floors?
countertops?
appliances?
Or....is there some place you had a bad experience with, and we should stay away from?

I got my cabinets and countertop from Altantis Kitchens in Flushing (on 164th Street) I worked with Jimmy and was VERY happy. I thought the price was right on and the service has been impeciable. FM me if you'd like specifics on price, etc.
We got our appliances at PC Richards.

we just redid our house including our kitchen and used a kitchen designer - we knocked down walls, all new cabinets
we went to consumers but our shape was not easy and their designers were not helpful filling the space - ended up with a lot of filler panels
our designer was great about space planning, knowing problems with certain brands and items, she planned our cabinet layout, electrical plan including lights and outlets, granite fabrication, plumbing layout -
she is wonderful - if you want her contact info send me a FM - she does not advertise - all on word of mouth

Cabinets - we got ours from Consumers - if you can - GO CUSTOM. I can't stress it enough. Custom cabinetry will truly maximize your kitchen. Price it out. Please. You'll find it's not really a big difference.
Floors - Procida Tile
Countertops - granite slab from European Marble and Granite in Farmingdale, our fabricators are E&S in Farmingdale
Appliances - all are from PC Richards, LG side by side fridge, the rest are GE Profile.

Well you already know who not to use for cabinets....
DO NOT USE HIM STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!!!
He finally called us back today. After threatening Scott with bodily harm told us that our cabinets would be here this week....although he couldnt give us a day. (I'll believe it when I see it)

We went custom--Dynamic Kitchens a vendor on here. If you are interested I can give you my feedback via FM.
Appliances--PCRichards KitchenAid Architect Series, Sharp drawer microwave.
Tile-Lowes
French Door--Pella from Lowes
Countertops--Granite via Hindustan Hauppauge, fabricator Tuscany Granite & Marble in Williston Park(we saved $700 using him). He's done work for about 7 people I know and all the jobs have been gorgeous....

are you planning on selling in the next 5-10 years. think carefully about knocking down the wall. We knocked ours down and buyers complained that we didn't have a formal dining room
