Is anyone TTC #2 and have to bring DC #1 to appt?

I'm on my second round of IUI and have to bring DC #1 to my bloodwork & ultrasound appt. tomorrow morning. DH is away. DC is old enough to ask lots of questions about what's going on and I have no idea what to tell her. It's really stressing me out. Chat Icon Has anyone else gone through this?

Yes, but DS is only 10 months old so no questions. Although keeping him occupied while sono is going on is a different kind of challengeChat Icon

I was lucky in that I was able to be there at 630 and then be home before DH had to go to work.

I did have to bring DC a few times when I was dealing with my OHSS and I brought the stroller in and gave lots of snacks.

The sono tech was awesome and shined lights on the ceiling and stuff so it wasnt that bad.

DC was more nervous about the dr touching me than anything else, although mine is not old enough to ask questions.

Thanks ladies. I bought some new fun toys to keep DC occupied. Hopefully that will help. I still have no idea what I'll say when the questions come. Chat Icon

I would say mommy is having some tests but I am fine. I would stress that you are ok so DC does not worry about you. Good luck.

I brought Abby with me when we were TTC #2. She came with me for IUIs that started last July so she was just under one year old. She only freaked out when they turned the lights out to do the post IUI sonogram. I tried my best to keep her occupied and quiet to be as respectful as I could to those in the waiting room.

Thank you all. It went really well. I felt bad waking DD so early to get there, but she was really good and the nurses were all so good to her. And she didn't even ask any questions about what was going on. What a relief!
