when you went to your OBGYN before TTC...
have an appt tomorrow for my regular checkup and wanted to talk to my dr. about TTC.
was wondering what questions you girls asked and what type of advice your dr. gave you? I'm not sure what to even ask!

Cant hurt to ask! Tell her your "clueless" and any help she could give you would be appreciated..lol.. make a list of questions to take with you that way you dont forget anything....I was on BCP so last time I went I asked her
-how long before ttc should I go off bcp
-should I expect to not get pg b/c i was on bcp for so many years?
-Dietary changes
-vitamins
etc

I just asked if all systems were ready to go! And that I said "great lets do it" and he replied "no you go do it with your DH!"  I love my doctor!

I actually went today bc I had a UTI. She gave my a prescription for pre natal vitamins.

She told me to take prenatals. And if I am having trouble, to come and see her in six months, if my regular check up is not before that.

This appt was in June 2009 (sigh) but I do remember.
Dr told me:
I can take a multi (prenatal not necessary)
Very very important to BD 5-6 days before O
He made it seem like it would be a piece of cake. Liar!

5 -6 days before O? that's so confusing to me. I thought the closer to O date the better. Not that I know when that day is.

The advice my Dr. gave me was to just do! haha. She also said that when Im ready to TTC to go off BCP for 3mths (use back up protection for those 3 mths) and take prenatal vitamins 3 mths prior to TTC. I really didnt have any Q's...

Yes he said 5 to 6 days prior is better. Sorry I should have added that he also said to bd on o day and day after. I have a reg28 day cycle and was told to bd cd 8 to 15 cause I prob o on cd 14. He stressed the prior days b/c of the small window and sperm survive a few days!

5-6 days before O through O day, even a day after.
Have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"? That'll help you figure out what signs to look for to let you know O is on it's way. Or you can use OPKs. I liked the digital ones. They tell you when your body is approaching O.
