Back from Disney...

Let's just say that we deserve to do it all over again.

My DH's boss ruined our whole vacation! We've been planning our vacation for months. We were soooo excited to go. Well, my DH's boss calls him on our way to the airport on Thursday and asks him where he is? He tells him you approved me to have off today and tomorrow for vacation. He tells him if he doesn't have his f'in a$$ in at 8:30 he's fired! My DH gets off the phone and tells me he can't go!!! I was like, what??? He just talked to his boss AGAIN two days previously about the trip as well, and then he does this??? I was hysterical. I couldn't believe what he was telling me. So here we are all of our stuff is in the car, Caiden is all excited about going on an airplane and only 5 minutes from the airport, and he tells me he can't go!!! Well, things got worse, and I ended up having to take Caiden on the plane by myself. It was a horrible way to start "vacation"!!! Well, my DH was soooooooo angry he wouldn't even talk to me. Thursday evening I was able to convince him to come Friday night that I'll change his flight. He doesn't know that it cost a lot of money to change his tickets, I just wanted him to be there, and I know he wanted to be there, so that didn't matter. Well, he did fly in Friday night. It was a very stressful vacation. Nothing worked out like it was suppose to. My DH was in a mood most of the weekend. Then to top off the vacation, my DH was suppose to fly out on Sunday night, being I had to change it to accomodate his boss, and I was flying out Monday morning. Well, we had transportation issues, and he ended up missing his flight and not being able to go out until the next morning. Soooo that just made EVERYTHING worse for me and with his boss. So, our last vacation before the baby SU@KED royally, what was suppose to be a fun family vacation together made a turn for the worse. I am still soooo upset about everything. We were suppose to have fun and spend quality time together. I still can't believe it turned out the way it did! I wish we could do it all over again!!! I can say Caiden had a lot of fun, but he was suppose to have soooo much more fun! There was sooo much that got messed up that we didn't get to do with him. It's just not fair!!! How can he do this to us!!! Thanks for letting me vent!

what's wrong with his boss?! If he needed him there so badly, he obviously can't fire him.

I can't believe what you just wrote! If I were your DH I would start looking for another job! His boss has some nerve. I'm so sorry he ruined yuor vacation.

We've been looking for another job for him for over a year!!!

He's been having many issues with him for years now. But this was the last straw for me! I am soooo determined to find him another job! He's been working for under this guy for over 5 years!!!

We both also work for a University, but he does things his own way!

That is soooo very HORRIBLE! I am so sorry for you guys! I don't understand how a boss can be like that. DAMNNNN what was SOOO important that he had to go to the office right then and there?
Ugh, I am so very sorry that your last family vaca was ruined. Did Caiden at least have a good time?

Caiden had a great time! I just feel like he could of had an even better time! It just feels like we were robbed of our "quality family" time together! We both work 2 jobs and Caiden is in school, so this time was VERY important to me! I just hope that when the time comes that my DH will still go next time. I'm afraid that he won't want to go anymore because of all that has happened.

Wow..I am so sorry that Dh boss did that to all of you...I can only imagine how it emotionally ruined your time..
How were the parks and the restaurants you went too?.. give us a trip report of the good things you got to do..

I've been just sitting here at work wishing that things could of gone differently, and how I wish we could do it all over again. I'm hoping we can go back next year. I want to go every 6 months to just take advantage of my sister working there since I don't know how long she will work there for and if and when we could afford it. I know we're extremely lucky to be able to have gone twice already, but having seen my son's face and see how much fun he has is sooo worth it and makes me want to go all the time!

I didn't realize how many little babies were at Disney. I was just thinking that the next time we can take Caiden we'll have the baby as well. Has anyone taken a toddler and a baby to Disney or on other vacations and how hard was it for you? Thanks!

I'd slap the ticket change fee on his bosses desk with a note describing how he ruined this anticipated (pre-approved) vacation...

Oh no Melissa, I am so sorry that your DH's boss tried to ruin your vacation!! I'm glad that Caiden enjoyed himself but I can see how this put a damper on everything for you all

Sorry to hear this.
Does your husband get his vacation approval on writing? Maybe that will help next time and then his boss cannot threaten to fire him. That's just horrible.
