Chasing Down Test Results

Is this normal? For the third time this month, I am waiting for test results and have been waiting so long, I have to call the doc several times to get an answer. I had blood drawn from me at the RE 10 days ago - they should have called by now, right? So I called them this morning and still haven't heard back.

I always thought THEY were supposed to call ME when they found something out. And this is two different doctors at two separate practices. Is this normal procedure? How is it supposed to work?

its not normal. I left the pratice I used to go to because if this. my new dr. calls me as soon as they have them, and actually he usually PERSONALLY reads everything to me and goes over it. I usually always hear back within a few days

A few days! Wow, that's quick. Seems like I'm always waiting at least a week, no matter what doctor I go to. And for the last one, my OB-GYN just had a nurse call. I mean, she knew what she was talking about but I'd never met her and she was telling me that there was a little something wrong on one of my tests, and it would have been nice to have heard a familiar voice.

not sure what the test is, but my dr only calls if something is wrong or odd, if all is normal she doesn't call but sends a letter.

still i think that's a long time to wait.

DH had a SA last Thursday and the Dr. called the same day!! DH had to do a retest today. I will let you know if the Dr. calls today. Then again I waited for my test results for maybe a week. The difference was that my results were all normal and DH was abnormal. They seemt o call quicker iof there is a problem. So i always try to be positive if they dont call right away.
