any one else have similar?

I had the ER last week, they got 5 eggs. 1 was not good from the start and the other 4 did not fertilize. You could imagine it was not easy for me to hear DH delicatly tell me what the RE said. Well I went for my f/u and I was told its not often that it happens but I was wondering if there is anyone else that had this happen and is willing to tell me if there was anything that they did to enhance the next cycle.

Are there tests you did to see why they didnt fertilize?

Did you go straight to the next fresh IVF?

Im so afraid that they change my protocol and I produce more eggs & all bad. I dont know what I will do.

I haven't gotten thru a cycle yet but i just wanted to send you hugs. I am so sorry you are going through this. Not sure what your dx is, but perhaps a 2nd opinion would help. Not sure i would go through a 2nd IVF with the same protocol that got me 0 good eggs, nor with a clinic that didnt have any answers for me as to why it failed. Again, i am so sorry.

Well the protocal is going to change round 2. instead of lupron I am going on BC and then the highest doses of Follistim and Menopur. I am hesitant to go thru this again to only find out that my eggs are bad. I asked what determines that it was my eggs and without testing my egg with other sperm and DH sperm with another egg there is no way (Re says) to tell. I cant afford to go for a second opinion. My ins only covers where I go now otherwise its 100% out of pocket. Thats why I ask if anyone has had similar.

Sorry to hear about your cycle.

Did they do ICSI? My first cycle they didn't do ICSI and they had retrieved 8 eggs. When I got the fertility report only 1 had fertilized abnormally but somehow straightened out but was only 4 cell on 3DT. Basically, years later, I figured out that most likely the eggs were not mature. But, they didn't analyze them. Which ****** me off. Can you get your embryology report and see what it says? It took 4 cycles to figure out that I just needed an extra day to stim. So, my 4th IVF cycle, I did a zillion supplements, changed my protocol and stimmed me an extra day and i had 10 mature eggs, 8 fertilized. It didn't work, but I later found out I had uterine adhesion's and high NK cells. Too bad it was the last OE IVF cycle. And I had just figured it all out, well almost.

So, yes, changing your protocol, maybe even stimming one extra day, and doing ICSI could make a huge difference. Supplements wont hurt either and also doing a low carb diet (not a no carb...a low carb).
