For anyone who has been PG before...

were you sort of surprised when you got your BFP? Or did you just know that any 2WW symptoms you were getting were different and therefore the BFP was no surprise at all? Just wondering, since pre-AF symptoms can be so similar, and the 2WW feels so long, that I could see myself being pessimistic every cycle, just assuming that it'll never happen.

With DD, I got pregnant the first month TTC and I was surprised.

We DS, I got pregnant with him out 7 or 8th month TTC and was again surprised.

I just have not symptoms until week 9 or 10 so I didn't feel any differently.

Re: For anyone who has been PG before...

i got a BFP in May the ended shortly after in early m/c. i KNEW the stick was going to be BFP. i thought my symptoms, really wet CM, more tired than normal, odd cramping, were all signs.

but this cycle i had the same "symptoms" and got a BFN. so it just goes to show that symptoms are meaningless.

I've gotten BFPs 3 times (2 ended in m/c) and with all 3 I had absolutely no symptoms that would have made me think I was preggers. I felt like AF was on her way at any minute, I had light cramping and tiredness but nothing else.

I predicted my BFP a few days before I tested. I had CM that cycle where in other cycles I was dry Chat Icon .. and I was so insanely tired to the point where I almost felt asleep one night at the dinner table!! It just felt "different" .. I also didn't get my classic AF pimple.. although the joke was on me when I broke out horribly in my first tri, worse than any AF breakout!! Chat Icon

Good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks, everyone! Sounds like it definitely doesn't pay to put too much stock in symptoms - though I will have to constantly remind myself of that for the next week.

I was not trying with DS we just were not preventing it for about 2 years so I had no idea. My boobs were so sore for a few weeks and I still played it off like it was AF. DH was the one who said your preggo. I was 6 weeks at that point.

Although we were trying for #1 I was in sort of denial of it ever really happening. I had slight symptoms but was totally SHOCKED when I got a BFP 1 day before AF was due.

Then once I calmed down and thought about it, it all made perfect sense to me.

I remember laying on the couch and thinking "when the heck was my last period?" and I really couldn't remember" I was feeling a light cramping in my stomach and a weird fullness...so I ran upstairs and thought "holy crap...WHAT IF?" POAS and there it was!

I was surprised on our second cycle TTC, when I got a BFP with DS. I thought it would take more tries to get pregnant and my mind wasn't playing tricks on me (like it does sometimes in the 2WW). I didn't feel any different symptoms. My boobs may have been slightly sorer than usual, but that was it!

I 100% knew I was pregnant starting at 5DPIUI. I had so many symptoms and I just felt "different". I can't explain it but I just knew. I got my BFP at 10DPO.

This is exactly how I felt - I was 99% postive that I was preggers just felt SO different than I usually feel. . but I agree that it's hard to put stock in symptoms bc our bodies are so crazy and our minds are SOOOO strong - it's easy to get confused.

Re: For anyone who has been PG before...

I was STUNNED. Like, 3pg tests later and still sobbing in the bathroom for 20minutes stunned.

I didn't have any symptoms other than a nap here and there after work (maybe 2?) and 1 day of EXTREME hunger. The night before my BFP I stood up to get off the couch and had the most sharp and excruciating cramp that I was doubled over and couldn't breathe. I remember thinking to myself- well, I guess I'm out again.

I am the poster child for ZERO symptoms- even during my pregnancy!

Good luck!
