Coffee during 2WW?
I'm in my 2WW....should I be having my daily iced coffee? Did anyone give up coffee/diet soda before they found out officially that they were expecting?...I LOVE iced coffee!!!

I don't eliminate anything. I will as soon as I get a BFP My Dr said I don't need to until I am pregnant

Same here.
I generally consume things in moderation, so I refuse to stress out about a glass of wine or cup of coffee during 2WW.

I don't change my diet with my first one until I actually got a BFP.

Re: Coffee during 2WW?
My dr told me to cut caffeine down to 200 mg max - that is 1-2 cups of coffee per day -- when we were TTC. I loved my starbucks iced coffee so I would order a grande but get it half caf -- I couldn't taste the difference

Re: Coffee during 2WW?
I have definitely cut down my caffeine intake. I only allow myself a small cup in the morning while I am getting ready for work. After that it is club soda and decaf's for the day.

Re: Coffee during 2WW?
I usually only have one cup a day during the week during the 2WW as well.
When I was PG earlier this year I switched to decaf coffee and tea and once every few days would have a regular cup.

Re: Coffee during 2WW?
I completely quit drinking coffee about 6 months ago. It was REALLY hard!!! This is how I did it:
I started drinking 2 cups of "Half the Caff" by Folgers, I think...for about a year and a half just because I was starting to get heartburn from regular coffee. After a year of doing this, I reduced it to 1 cup.
Then, I switched to caffeinated tea for about 4 months.
Now, I alternate between decaf tea and regular tea (depending on where I am in my cycle). On a very rare occasion, I'll have espresso or american coffee with the family.
Also, I was getting really bad headaches when I made the switch from "half the caff" to tea. It's really hard to quit cold turkey. I highly recommend doing half the caff for a few months before you decide to completely eliminate coffee/caffeine from your diet. As for decrease in energy, I definitely don't feel as energetic in the morning, but you get used to it. Actually, when I do drink coffee now, I start getting heart palpitations and get all jittery. It just goes to show you what kind of effect caffeine does to your body (and the little one inside).
GL, ladies!!!

200mg is alot still, each can of pepsi has 38mg of caffine so that would mean you can drink 5 cans a day

Re: Coffee during 2WW?
I switched to decaf coffee when we started TTC. I go to Starbucks a lot in the afternoons and I'll get an iced latte, but I just request decaf instead. I honestly can't taste the difference and (maybe it's in my head) but I still feel like it gives me a good "pick me up" when I'm tired.
If you're only drinking one or two cups a day, I wouldn't be too concerned while you are on your 2WW., but you can always try decaf or half cafe if you're worried.

ita with the starbucks "pick me up" with decaf. it must be mental. i can't tell the difference either....maybe they aren't really giving us decaf!!!
to answer the op, i switched to decaf totally when we started TTC, but then again, i didn't use the coffee as a means to get by during the day, i just like the taste!
