Those that have used Robitussin...
How often do you take it? Just a few hours before or the whole cycle (CD1 to O)
Did you notice more CM?

Re: Those that have used Robitussin...
I used Mucinex (which contains guaifenesin like Robitussin) for three months...a week before ovulation. I saw no difference in my CM, so I discontinued use. Honestly, I think the only way to get that extra "fluid" down there is by drinking extra fluid. That's what I'm trying this month...a few extra glasses of water a day. But try the Robitussin. I have heard some people are successful with it. Just make sure you get plain Robitussin...not the decongestant or it will thin out mucous and dry it up. You don't want to dry it up, just thin it out.

I agree with the PP. I tried both Robitussin and Mucinex and can't really say I noticed a difference. I did notice a difference though with drinking grapefruit juice, green tea and plenty of water on a daily basis.

I think it's supposed to make the CM more fertile (EWCM- so sperm can swim), not make you produce more.
I used the 12 hr Mucinex with guaifenesin only the day before I O'd and for 2 days after and BD those days. I think I may add a day and take it 2 days before O too.
Make sure it doesn't have anything else in it b/c that can actually dry up the CM.
ETS, I didn't notice a difference, but then again, I never really paid attention to CM.

Re: Those that have used Robitussin...
The Robitussin / Mucinex has a cumulative effect. So taking it a few hours before bd doesn't really do anything. The book I read says to take it at maximum dosage (for Mucinex that's one pill every 12 hours) for 5 days before O.
The theory is just as it loosens the mucus in your chest so you cough more productively, it loosens the mucus around your cervix too. Makes sense to me.

Re: Those that have used Robitussin...
So an update -- i saw my dr this morning and told her about my lack of CM -- she suggested the robitussen - and said to take the max amount listed on the bottle - which is 4tsp every 4 hours (not exceeding 6 dosages)
