Hi again, Still fairly new and just an update.

Sorry this is long....i Posted a few weeks back. As for now I will go by pia trying to remain anonymous. You girls have been very helpful and I and extremely appreicative. I learn sooo much just by reading these boards. We are in the middle of another month of trying. I went for a sonogram Monday morning which was cd 10 and Dr Rosenfeld wants me to go back tom for another as he thinks i should ovulate by the end of the week. we will then hopefully eprform an IUI (which will be my first) I am not on meds as he thinks theres no reason.Last month i was travelling for work and missed my chance again when i started testing cd 15 and on i didnt get a smiley i have been trying to temp every morning but sometimes its hard and i honestly forget bc i get up soo early for work. when he asked for my chart i felt he got a little annoyed. . Has this happened to anyone else?. i am doing the digital opk's religiously. i have to admit im second guessing my choice of doctors due to the fact that its in LI and i work downtown manhattan and its jsut hard having to go early in the am come to work late. Maybe im just stressign to much idk. Sorry for all this venting Chat Icon .

No, I never charted, I did keep track of cm, my period, and O dates (used OPK's). That being said, once I went to a RE, I stopped all of it because that is what I was paying a doctor for. It was actually a relief because I was exhausted from it and happy to let someone else worry about my cycle. Chat Icon Chat Icon

During an IUI the doctor and his office is suppose to monitor you very carefully. Timing for an IUI is everything!

If the doctor or the commute is stressing you out now, I would go on some consults and look for a RE that is more convenient for you. Choosing a RE is one of the most important decisions you can make. It sounds like you are at the beginning (hopefully end) of your journey, so now would be the time to make the switch.

Good Luck to you !!!!!! Keep us posted.

Re: Hi again, Still fairly new and just an update.

I totally understand how you feel re: appointment times and stress. I work in midtown and also go to NSUH, and it hard to rush for the train after an appointment. And with the IUIs the earliest appointment is at 9am and sometimes they just get backed up by that point.

But does your DH/partner also work downtown? If not, then how will you deal with getting his sample to the doctor and then waiting for it to be processed before the IUI?

I was also skeptical of testing twice a day for the surge. I did 4 unmedicated IUIs (we are dealing with MF issues) and figured out that it was better for me to test in the AM and then much later at night, around 8-10pm, since I was never catching a surge at 4pm. Then if I saw the surge at that point DH just dropped off a sample the next am and schedule me an appointment for an IUI.

Good luck!!

Thanks ladies,
well thats one of the problems is that on the day of an IUI i wouldnt even be able to go in late bc i am at work at *, by the time im done it will be to late. so thats basically a sick day for me bc i wouldnt know until the night before anyway. As for dh, that another issue stressing me out. He works all diff hours as he owns his own business. I know he can produce at home (which he would prob rather do anyway lol) then i bring it with me to the doctors. Im not 100 % sure on his that works, but i assume i bring it to the lab then after that is when the procedure is performed. Do we continue to BD every other day until my positive opk? i bought preseed and will try that too , it cant hurt!

Re: Hi again, Still fairly new and just an update.

I just wanted to add that I am a former Dr R patient, IUI w/ medicine worked for me on round # 2- I have Chat IconChat Icon that are 3.5 weeks old.
All I can say is Dr R motto was "slow and steady wins the race" and he was right. Its hard I know but try to have confidence in the dr and you gotta have faith that you are doing the best you can possible to get pregnant.
I had some really bad days, but I kept praying and stayed positive.

Good luck and feel free to fm w/ any questions.

Round #1 we just did the IUI but on round #2 we BD also. DH numbers were normal.

To be honest, I never charted/took my temps, I did use the CB monitor- but really didn't go by it.

Same here....I never charted, only did OPKs and used the CBEFM. I stopped once I started seeing an RE. They should be monitoring you there, so you don't have to worry about all of that...

I think a semen sample is good for 1-2 hrs. So if he produces at home at 9am in needs to be at the clinic by 10ish so you can have the procedure done in time. (it takes about 20-30min to wash / prepare it)Chat Icon
